Last year in November I was moved by a friend, who each day in Nov. posted one thing she was grateful for. Then I came across this quote:
“Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously. And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude.”― Ralph Waldo Emerson
Rather then post each day, I am making sure that I keep a journal with just one thing I am grateful for each day, building up to Thanksgiving. It’s a wonderful, and easy habit, one that I seem to have carried on through the last year, and hope to continue to do so. I encourage all of you to do the the same. A recent study suggested that people who thank, or share their gratitude towards others are instantly happier people. Sometimes all it takes is a simple ‘thank you’. Watch this video on gratitude from Upworthy, it will change the way you think about saying thanks (you’ll thank me later!) . Or alternatively, call a friend, your mother, a teacher, and tell them. Let’s try this happiness experiment ourselves, shall we?
