I am so happy to share Amy and Dustin’s Westport, CT wedding with you on the blog today. They were married at the Westport Inn, amongst a small (ish) group of close friends and family. The two of them decided ahead of time to take pictures before the ceremony, and sneak off to the beach nearby for these photos. It made for a relaxed day, of no rushing and totally stress-free. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day; perfect blue skies, no humidity, and on the longest day of the year (summer solstice).
I Loved that Dustin wore pink socks to match!
After the beach we went back to the Inn for the ceremony which was outside under a sweet floral arbor. I love the look on the grooms face when he is watching his bride come down the aisle (even though he saw her before, it was still so magical). One of Amy’s closest friends (and bridesmaid) played the violin for her as she walked down the aisle.
Amy and her identical twin sister, Lauren share the same wedding dress. It is a “one off” from a small store in Brooklyn. Lauren wore it when she was married several years ago and Amy decided to wear it too (she also browed her shoes!). How sweet is that? The reception was indoor/outdoor, and they had a game of cornhole set up outside. It didn’t get dark till almost 9pm. Everyone sipped on blueberry lemonade (see recipe here). After cocktail hour everyone headed indoors for the most amazing buffet at three different food stations; Mexican, Italian, and Sushi. Amy and Dustin are serious about their food, and wanted to make sure they had all their favorites!
Floral design: Hansens Catering: Garelick and Herbs All of the cute signage and take-away gifts were from the Knot Shop. I loved the hot pink and blue scheme, from the cake to the men’s ties which were from the Tie Bar (all the proceeds go to support gay marriage rights).
Congratulations to one of the loveliest couples I’ve met, and I hope that the honeymoon in Mexico was fabulous!
