This weeks recipe comes from the ridiculous amount of sage I have in my herb garden. I’d never thought of adding sage to a drink before I started goggling, “recipes for sage”. I came up with the one below. As with all my herbs, I never add pesticides, and the soil is 100 % organic, while I wash off the dirt, I never need to worry about chemicals. Make sure if you don’t have an herb garden, that your herbs are not sprayed if you buy them in a local market. Below is the perfect brunch drink for those languid summer afternoons. Enjoy~
Grapefruit and Sage Mimosa
Ruby Red Grapefruit Juice (Fresh squeezed if you can)
A sweet sparkling wine
A few fresh sage leaves
A wedge of grapefruit for garnish
Place a couple sage leaves (torn in half) at the bottom of each serving glass, fill with ice.
Add about 2 ounces of grapefruit juice, and top off with sparkling wine . If you are looking for an inexpensive sparkling wine you can try an Italian procecco or a Portuguese vinho verde.
Serve with additional sage leaves and grapefruit wedge.
