“Some days in late August at home are like this, the air thin and eager like this, with something in it sad and nostalgic and familiar…”
— William Faulkner.
I hope you have a great Labor Day weekend! Can you believe we are here already? What are you up to? Traveling? Staying put? I’ll be right here, nursing away the newest bout of poison ivy & a spider bite (epps). I calculated (when I was having trouble falling asleep the other night) that over the summer I’ve had approximately : 6 ice cream cones, 3 cases of poison ivy, swam in the Atlantic ocean 7 times, swam in the pool 40 times, read four books. had one sunburn, been on a boat three times, hiked two trails on the Appalachian, cut one hundred flowers from the garden, ate 30 tomatoes, went blueberry, peach and strawberry picking, watched 13 perfect sunsets, saw fireworks, and watched a little girl catch a toad. All in all, a pretty good summer.
I’ve gathered some links from around the web this week if you are in a reading kind of mood over the weekend. Have a relaxing long weekend.
