summer memories

When is the last time you lay down in the grass? The tall kind, not the short kind, and looked up at the sky? I highly recommend it. We used to do it all the time as kids.  We played hide and seek in the tall grasses, and would look for deer beds to hide in. Have you ever seen a deer bed? I found one right in the yard (before it was hayed). Here is what they look like.

The deer move in a circle before they lie down (like a dog) and it forms this pattern that makes an impression in the grass. Beautiful, isn’t it? I think (or wonder) if the smaller one on top was the fawn?
