Erin & Kevin : elopement in a field
Erin & Kevin were married September 16, in a beautiful field, surrounded by immediate family and a few close friends. After being long time friends, and then a couple, they got engaged last year, and set the date for this late summer. Little did they know Erin would already be 7 months pregnant. Erin Told me she had picked out her BHLDN wedding dress a year ago, and with a few tiny adjustments, she was able to wear the dress on her wedding day. The flowers, a beautiful sea of pale pink and greens, went perfectly with the blush pink gown. Kevin’s father, dressed in a kilt, played the bagpipes, as they proceeded into the field. It brought tears to my eyes. In order to understand the brilliance and love between these two, you would have to read this lovely inquiry I got, several weeks before the wedding date. As I told Erin, she had me at “hello”
We are doing a schedule inquiry for saturday sept 16 for a wedding… Yep in a few weeks.
The location is Sharon CT and The Hopkins Inn overlooking Lake Waramaug.
If you are available… Here is a little about us and what we are looking for.
Kevin and I are having an untraditional wedding. We are basically eloping.
There will be a total of 10 people including us.
We want to have the ceremony around 3pm overlooking the hudson halley; there is a great spot in Sharon where the painters always set up the easels and get to work. It will be about a 30 minute ceremony… plus a little time for some photos.
After that, for sunset, we are going to have dinner at The Hopkins Inn . Dinner will be at like 5:30.
We were thinking of starting at noonish at the house with some prep stuff and us hanging out. The house is also in Sharon CT.
I’ll be your 7mo pregnant bride, in a flowy simple gown… my father in law will likely be in a kilt, my sister in law will have the cutest chubby little boy smiling up a storm, and Belinda, a close friend, who happens to be a world famous slight of hand magician, will be officiating. So basically 10 of the most interesting cool people ever.
I guarantee we will be a fun, loving, kind group.
What I am looking for from a photographer is to capture the intimacy while also allowing for the location to resonate through. We feel very at home in New England and we absolutely love the people we are sharing this with. We want the images to show how unfussy we are… To embrace the wine spills and the hair blowing awkwardly in the breeze. And we want a photographer who can do the same.
After all of that… I guess the first question is… What are you doing saturday september 16?
DONE! Who wouldn’t want to photograph this sweet couple?!
Before the ceremony, it began to pour as we drove to Millerton NY, where the couple wanted to take pictures, but we were prepared with our clear matching plastic umbrellas (how cute was that idea). I loved that they wanted pictures of themselves, and the first look to be in and around the charming town of Millerton NY.
