It’s a New Year

It’s a New Year

Bridal party-getting ready

it’s a new year, and I’m finally coming out of the fog that follows a stretch of holidays stacked back-to-back — paired with a winter colder than New England has seen in years. It’s been brutal, honestly.

That quiet stretch between Christmas and New Year’s Eve is when I always take stock. I think about what I want the year ahead to look like — not just professionally, but creatively. This year, that reflection led me to streamline and update my website. Done and done.

What’s harder — and always has been — is whittling down my images.

After more than two decades of photographing weddings and families in Litchfield County and beyond, I have a deep archive to sift through. Thousands of moments, seasons, stories. Editing is less about choosing what’s good, and more about choosing what endures.

One thing that comes up again and again is that my work doesn’t feel dated. And that matters to me. That’s the result of editing with restraint — a timeless, refined approach that lets the moment speak for itself.

Finding the quite moments

Turning off the noise.

Lately, I’ve been thinking about how the days are slowly getting lighter again — almost imperceptibly — a small signal that spring is on its way.

It’s hard not to feel the weight of the world right now. Images and videos travel fast, often louder than words, and sometimes it all feels like too much. So I’ve been choosing to step back from the noise. Not to ignore what’s happening, but to be more intentional about where I place my attention and how I spend my time.

For me, that means continuing to photograph love — the real, quiet, deeply human kind. The fleeting moments that pass too quickly. Families celebrating milestones. First steps, soft kisses, whispered secrets. Wedding days filled with movement and meaning — first dances, cakes, flowers, laughter.

Weddings

Looking ahead, I’m also being more considered about the weddings I take on. I’m drawn to celebrations that are thoughtfully designed and deeply personal — where intention, artistry, and experience are prioritized. I work with a limited number of couples each year so I can give each wedding the care, attention, and creative focus it deserves.

If you’re planning a wedding that values presence over spectacle, and images that feel timeless rather than trend-driven, I would love to connect.

Newborn

I’m now booking family and newborn sessions for winter and spring 2026. With Litchfield County’s busy summer season, my calendar tends to fill quickly from May through October—especially weekends. If you’ve been meaning to book and waiting for the “right time,” this is your gentle nudge to choose a date and make it official.
