Who doesn’t love a New England seaside town, sprinkled with art galleries,fudge and ice cream shops, tiny nooks and alleys that lead you into the sea? This is Rockport Massachusetts, nestled into the North Shore of Cape Ann. It is a perfect little “walk around” town. And also a nice thing to do when the weather is stormy and you can’t go to the beach. Lucky us, (I had a bunch of my nieces and their friends) we squeezed in an hour and half of stumbling around before the storm hit us, then we jumped into the car and drove to Essex, where we had the best fried clams ever–if you want the real deal you have to go to Woodmans–where supposedly fried clams were invented….
