I wanted to pop on to the blog, for a moment to wish everyone a happy (almost) new year-eeks. It’s sort of hard to believe that 2013 is almost over and I still have not gotten used to writing it. Sometimes as a photographer I find it hard to just put my camera down and be in the moment. I think it’s a good thing to do now and then (i’ve been doing lots of that over the holidays). As I feel my camera has become an appendage of sorts. So for the last week (and I hope throughout the New Year). I can do just that for bits: be in the moment and spend time with family and friends. I hope you get to do that too! I have been spending the holiday hauled up with family and friends, reading my new books, cooking, watching movies, eating christmas cookies (sometimes for breakfast), sitting by warm fires, and walking in the woods with my nieces and the dogs.
Career-wise this has been an amazing year. I have had incredible people come into my life, and I had the opportunity to work with some talented creatives. My work has been featured on Wedding Chicks x2, Carat’s & Cake, & Gardenista ! I’ve been interviewed by the New York Times, and featured as a woman’s entrepreneur over here. I have photographed some amazing writers and actors. But my greatest feeling of accomplishment (and happiness) is the letters and emails I get from you guys, telling me how much you loved your wedding pictures (or your child’s first laugh/step). It’s why I do what I do. So thank you so much for everything this year, and letting me into your life. My cup truly runneth over. Here is to a happy, healthy and prosperous 2014 for all.-xo-Kate
