Nantucket family story telling session weekend.
Family storytelling sessions are my favorite. For one, they give me ample time to just hang out with a family for a good hour or so, and it leaves us plenty of time for pictures. I especially love a beach session. Nantucket is a really special place for me. In-between my freshman and sophomore year of college I spend a summer there attending photography classes at NISDA ( Nantucket School of Art and Design). It is when I truly fell in love with photography.
This is at least the fifth time I have documented this family. It’s been an amazing journey. I met them while photographing their sister’s wedding in New Orleans, and ever since they have become both friends and clients. So, when they asked if I would come to Nantucket with them for a few days and document their family, I was all in!
Every single corner of Nantucket Island is beautiful, If you have never been, I recommend going in the off-season, so you can really explore what the Island is like. Anytime before Memorial Day, or after Labor Day. It can be super busy in August! It’s difficult to get around, so plan on renting a bike on Island. It is much easier than driving.
