Spring is a time for renewal.
We all feel it when April arrives — that readiness to embrace the sunshine after a long New England winter. It’s also a season of growth.
Now more than ever, it’s important to set aside moments to unplug. Make a date to spend time outside with your children. No matter their age — toddler or pre-teen — the memories you’ll treasure most won’t be about the deadlines you met or the days you didn’t feel “camera ready” a few months—or a year—after giving birth.
When my own mother passed away, the images I held onto most dearly were the ones with her in them. Mothers are so often the ones behind the camera, capturing the moments yet seldom appearing in them.
It has been my privilege to photograph hundreds of mothers with their children — these connections, these moments of love and presence, are the root of what I do. They form the most beautiful legacy.
